TITLE
CHANGES
My books are on occasion retitled for the US market,
and this can cause confusion, resulting – in
the worst-case scenario – in readers inadvertently
buying the same book twice. Indeed, Amazon UK were
offering a ‘Perfect Partner’ promotion
on BIRTHS, DEATHS AND MARRIAGES with DEATH
IN THE FAMILY,
which those of you who are clued up on such things
will know is the same book. I told them about it, and
they removed the promotion immediately, but that’s
no guarantee that it won’t happen again. The
title changes are made for a variety of reasons, and
the resulting confusion is entirely unintentional.
The titles that have been changed for the US market
are:
REDEMPTION (UK) = MURDER AT
THE OLD VICARAGE (US)
DEATH OF A DANCER (UK) = GONE
TO HER DEATH (US)
BIRTHS, DEATHS & MARRIAGES (UK)
= DEATH
IN THE FAMILY (US)
I hope this helps!
